WPHS Girls Varsity Tennis Wrap Successful Season

By: Amber Lau WPHS’s Girls Varsity Tennis Team had an awesome season! Led by Coach Tock and Co-Captains Ryan Krouskoff and Natasha Rappa, the team held a record of 14-1 and remained undefeated in their league. Not only were they League Champions, but they ended as the 3rd seed in their section. Due to their outstanding record, the team received a bye for the first round of sectionals and went straight to the Quarterfinals. Although the team was defeated by Nyack with an overall score of 3-4, they certainly didn’t go down without a fight. They were only one individual match away from moving forward to the semifinals. Looking back to a week prior to the team sectionals match, five girls were selected to participate in the individual tournament. Singles players Ryan Krouskoff, Natasha Rappa, and Malisa Trueblood, along with doubles team Delphine and Elloise Larosiliere all played in the first round of the individual tournament, with Ryan Krouskoff and the Larosiliere twins advancing to the next round. All in all, this season has been memorable. The entire team has grown much closer and has created deep bonds throughout the season on and off the courts. We already can’t wait for next season!
