This year, the WPHS club that was formerly known as Peer Impact is making a bigger mark by becoming Club ETL (Eat, Talk, Learn). With over 30 people attending the first meeting this past Tuesday, ETL had a successful turnout. During the first meeting, students participated in an icebreaker about personal characteristics after enjoying a tasty slice of pizza. People identified terms like humanity, wisdom, courage, justice, temperance, and transcendence while working and communicating with one another. ETL is all about creating a space where people can make a more aware and engaging community. In the past, students have participated in discussions on topics like safe sex, personal values/self-esteem, pregnancy prevention, and more. Now, ETL is working on fun and engaging holiday events and drives including a fundraiser that will be advocating for patients with Type 1 Diabetes. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in leadership positions by pitching their own project ideas to Ms. Manber, the club advisor, or the club officers. Additionally, students may receive community service hours and deepen connections with others. There will also be plenty of snacks to enjoy during the meetings!
ETL meets every Tuesday in Room E215, and to be a part of this exciting club, be sure to follow the Instagram @wphs_fun.etl and most important, join the 'Group Me' with the link below to get alerts about upcoming projects and meetings.
