For the 8th year in a row, the Westchester Parks Foundation is hosting Winter Wonderland, a holiday light extravaganza, at the Kensico Dam Plaza, and this is the 2nd year that it is a drive -thru experience.
In his speech on the opening night of Winter Wonderland 2021, Joe Stout, the Executive Director of the Westchester Parks Foundation explained, “We all visit the Kensico Dam Plaza Park throughout the year, but to see it transformed into this magical Winter Wonderland for five weeks this holiday season is magnificent. It truly is a tradition for so many of us not just in Westchester but the tri-state area.” As Joe said himself, this event is a magnet for people from all over the area.
Attendees of this event can expect to be dazzled by 1.2 miles of holiday lights, larger than life displays, live characters, and Santa, all from the warmth and safety of their own cars. This year, it will be open seven nights a week, rain, snow, or shine. This year, among the many exciting attractions are two thirty-foot snowflakes to light up the largest holiday Christmas Tree in
Westchester. Exciting yet COVID-safe, this event is one you won’t want to miss.
