White Plains Girls Varsity Tennis defeated their league schools (Ossining, Sleepy Hollow, Lakeland, and Walter Panas), cruising their way to the top. White Plains defeated Sleepy Hollow 6-1, and all the other opponents 7-0. The team has only lost one out of nine matches so far, with their match against Harrison breaking their undefeated streak of eight games!
They are still tough and ready to take on the rest of the matches, led by Coach Tock and captains Ryan Krouskoff (junior) and Natasha Rappa (senior). The stakes are much higher this year in terms of qualifying for sectionals, requiring more than just wins and great league standings, so the ultimate goal is to do better than last year. Since the season of Fall 2021 was pretty strong, the dedication and two hour practices are very crucial this year to reaching those seeds again.
Individual sectionals start about a week after the team tournament, so we are hoping to have some of our players qualify and represent White Plains. Our amazing doubles duo Elloise and Delphine Larosiliere (freshmen) and singles players Ryan Krouskoff and Natasha Rappa are in the running. Come out to support!
