While those chilly temperatures are just settling in, Westchester has already started gearing up for the upcoming winter with a new ice rink in Yonkers.
On Nov. 20, the Ridge Hill outdoor mall will celebrate the grand opening of a new ice-skating rink called Ridge Hill on Ice.
Located near The Cheesecake Factory on the Town Square Lawn, this 2,000-square-foot rink will create a magical place for the public. While walk-ins are welcome, Ridge Hill recommends that guests make ice skating reservations in advance through their website in order to secure a time slot.
In addition to the new rink, Ridge Hill will host several holiday activities, including a professional ice-skating performance at 4 p.m. to officially open the rink. Don’t want to ice skate? No problem! You can still enjoy the holiday performances, the festive tunes, and the magical lighting of the Christmas tree for free.
Once the rink opens its doors, you can glide around and enjoy the fun. Skates are included in general admission tickets. Children 12 and under can purchase tickets for $14 and adults for $18. After the opening event, ice skating will be available on Mondays through Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Whether you want to spin around or carefully glide on the ice with your friends and family, the new skating rink welcomes skaters of all ages and skills!
