During the year 2022, many songs were released and have become big hits. From artists who haven’t had a hit in a while to artists who are new to the industry, these 10 songs that I have chosen are some of my all-time favorites. Some of them may have been released in 2021 or 2022 and are still a hit on the Billboard Top 100 and have been for weeks. These songs should definitely be on everyone’s playlist.
"Bad Habits" by Ed Sheeran
Bad Habits is a nice catchy tune that has a meaning behind the lyrics. Back in 2019, Ed Sheeran had some bad habits himself. He had always been honest about his past life. According to Distractify ( https://www.distractify.com/p/ed-sheeran-bad-habits-meaning), Bad Habits is reflecting on choices he made in the past.

About Damn Time is a popular song that has a clear meaning, which is to love yourself and to not worry about what other people think or say about you. “Turn up the music, turn down the lights, I gotta feeling I’m gonna be alright.” This shows that she wants to have fun and be herself with no one watching.
"As It Was" by Harry Styles

This tune that everyone knows the lyrics to is a really pretty and deep song. “You know it's not the same as it was,” means that after two years of the world's instability due to the pandemic, things aren’t as they were before. This song can also relate to situations that do not have to do with the pandemic. This song is ageless and timeless.
"Dynamite" by BTS
By one of the world's most popular boy bands, this song was a favorite for most BTS fans. It’s a pump-up song and a tune to listen to for shaking off the nerves for a game, test, etc. For example, the lyric “Light it up like dynamite,” means to do awesome and great at whatever you do.
"Drivers License" by Olivia Rodrigo
Those who watched Bizardvark on Disney Channel and followed Olivia since the beginning should know her songs. drivers license is a mellow heartbreak song that is meant for teens going through hard times.
"Sunroof" by Nicky You're & Dazy
This is one of my personal favorite summer songs. It’s a catchy and upbeat song that can be listened to anytime, anywhere. It’s a song made for all ages during the summertime. On long drives, blasting this song is so much fun and I highly recommend putting this on your playlist.
"Victoria’s Secret" by Jax
This song is all over YouTube and TikTok. When you listen to the lyrics, you’ll realize that it’s a powerful song. It promotes the importance of loving yourself and your body. Whatever your hair type, skin color, or body type may be, you are unique and beautiful no matter what. People tend to try to be like everyone else, but you should be yourself and not like anyone else.
"We Don’t Talk About Bruno" by the cast of Encanto
Encanto has taken over the world. Everyone has been obsessed with this amazing and unique Disney movie. We Don’t Talk About Bruno has become the new “Let it Go.” It’s a super catchy song for kids, teens, and adults. In the movie, Mirabel, one of the main characters, wants to learn more about her Tío (uncle) and why he left, but her entire family won’t give her any information except for what he did to them.
"Heat Waves" by Glass Animals
This song has a nice tune and beat to it. It’s written by a band that had a one hit wonder. In my opinion, it’s a song that should be listened to in the summer because of the references to “Heat Waves.”
"Fancy Like" by Walker Hayes
This last song is another one of my favorites. It’s another summer song. For some of you, it may make you crave Applebee’s because it refers to it in the song. It’s a mix of a country and a pop song. Although Hayes is a country singer, Fancy Like is a pop song. Either way, it’s a song that everyone should listen to at some point in their life.
