The Girls Varsity Soccer team finished with a great season this year. The season started with a a strong roster of mostly returning players and a new coach, Martyn White. The season kicked off with tough match against Roy C. Ketchum High School, and although they fell to Ketchum 2-1 in that match, the team quickly gelled and became a dominating force in the league. With a condensed schedule over 6 weeks, the team won the league, for the first time since 2018, with a 7-2 record.
In the sectional playoffs, the team’s record earned them a bye for the first round and a match up against Ossining in the quarter final round. Expectations were high with White Plains winning twice against Ossining during the regular season. Ultimately, a spectacular goal in the first few minutes of overtime, clinched the playoff win.
Although the next game against Arlington was a loss, this year’s varsity team finished strong. With almost the entire team returning next year, the team has
big plans for another winning season.
Editor's Note: Ella Kincheloe and Jordan Ford earned All-Section honors, and coach Martyn White was named league coach of the year.
