Fall sports are coming to an end, meaning it's almost a wrap for WPHS’s Girls Varsity Tennis season! As we transition from fall to winter, the Girls Tennis Team can look back and reflect on an incredible and unforgettable season. The team began practicing over the summer, preparing for a season full of matches. Their hard work paid off, as they maintained an undefeated record, winning both their League and non-League matches!
Just a couple of weeks ago, the team decorated the courts and prepared a dinner for after their match to celebrate their eleven seniors. You read that right, eleven seniors! With so many players saying their sad goodbyes, the team will surely look different next year!
Three players on the team were selected to play in the Individual Sectional Playoffs, and they did not fail to make White Plains proud! Congratulations to Captain Ryan Krouskoff for making it to the third round of the singles tournament, and doubles team Delphine and Elloise Larosiliere for advancing to the second round!
As for the team, due to their incredible record, they have gained entrance into the Section 1 Team Tournament! Not only have they made it to playoffs, but they were ranked as the fourth seed, allowing them to go straight to the quarterfinals, which will be held on Friday, October 13th! Best of luck to the Girls Varsity Tennis Team!
