After finishing a wonderful school musical, "Pippin," last month, we have more singing and dancing coming your way this very weekend! We are thrilled to announce that the White Plains High School Spring Cabaret will be bringing a spectacular finish to March, with show dates this Friday, the 28th, and Saturday, the 29th! Both performances, held at 7 p.m. in the Little Theater, are sure to be captivating and talent-filled!

This year’s Cabaret theme is "Lovers and Loonies," with Broadway songs and play monologues all about discovering romance, falling out of love, going crazy, and being crazy in love! The Cabaret features action-packed, emotion-filled group numbers such as "Seasons of Love" from "Rent" and "What Is This Feeling?" from "Wicked." There are delightful duets, soulful solos, and terrific trios!

The Cabaret will be a wonderful experience that you are sure to enjoy. The performers have all been working extremely hard. Come support the arts here at WPHS by buying tickets at the door. Future productions include the "One Acts," in which a student recreates scenes from a favorite show or play or even makes up their own!

Auditions for the Cabaret started in the beginning of March, and rehearsals have been weekly throughout the month.

Student director, freshman Haziel Perez, says her favorite part of Cabaret is the environment: "It’s amazing to see us all united in our creativity, and it’s fun to work with everyone. The collaboration brings such vibrant energy to the performances!" Haziel describes the Cabaret as "rewarding… incredibly fun and lively… a showcase of talent where you get to see a mix of performances, from singing and dancing to skits and more. The energy is infectious, and everyone comes together to celebrate creativity… full of laughter, excitement, and amazing performances!"

Alice Brodsky, a junior here at WPHS, has expressed her appreciation of being able to work together with Haziel as co-directors for the show. Haziel also commented on how grateful she was for her mentorship with Alice: "Alice, the upperclassman director, has shared valuable insights and experiences that have helped me, as the lower-classman director, navigate challenges and develop my skills. This relationship encouraged growth and confidence, allowing both of us to learn from each other."

So, if you’re looking for some live entertainment this weekend, come to the Little Theater for a production you won’t want to miss!

We hope to see you in the audience, singing along!
